Awards Sponsors Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service who chose to sponsor the Dany Cotton Inspiring Leader Award, said:

“Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) is proud and privileged to be sponsoring the Dany Cotton Inspiring Leader Award. We are striving to break the bias within our workplaces and our community and key to this is the visibility and celebration of those fire and rescue service colleagues who support this aim.

Fire and Rescue Services are at the heart of our communities and we are passionate about making them more representative of those communities. The Inspiring Leader Award recognises those who drive this change, and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is proud to recognise such achievement.

We see our support of this award as a long term commitment celebrating equality, diversity and inclusion and removing workplace inequality.”

Ben Levy, Area Manager, and Senior Sponsor of the Greater Manchester Women’s Success and Support Network.

“It’s an honour and a privilege to be supported by our award sponsors. We are delighted to embrace and promote organisations and companies who share our passion and commitment for equality and diversity in the Service.”

“There was an incredible number of nominations last year, making it extremely difficult to select the winning candidates. Our awards panel is looking forward to recognising those who have gone above and beyond to deliver extraordinary spirit and progress across their workplace and communities.”

“In these challenging times, it is so important to celebrate the positive news that comes our way. So please do take part and nominate and give someone some well-earned recognition.”

In giving its support, sponsor of the Firefighter Rising Star Award, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service’s Chief Fire Officer said:

“Our rising stars bring new diverse thinking – unlocking that potential is at the heart of this award. The determination and commitment demonstrated by women and non-binary gender identities in an often challenging environment is the reason why Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are so proud to sponsor this award. Acceptance isn’t understanding – understanding is acceptance – inclusivity is at the forefront of this work and it is fantastic (in a small way) to be able to recognise through this award the talent emerging and new thinking which champions our future ambition.”

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Chief Fire Officer, Phil Garrigan
