The right person
We are seeking to employ a friendly, reliable, and efficient person to join our office team as a Finance Assistant.
The role
As a Senior Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Processing Team complete daily/weekly/monthly tasks in a timely manner highlighting errors and training where necessary.
- Supplier payments, post in system/pay in online banking and send remittance advices to suppliers, keeping to deadlines for payments to suppliers.
- Maintaining aged creditors and supplier accounts.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Maintaining daily cashflow reports.
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers and across the business.
- Taking calls and dealing with enquires.
- Providing stakeholders with financial information when required (budget holders, auditors etc.).
- To work within and promote the Authority’s health, safety and welfare policies and procedures as set out in SIS SO Vol 6/1 ‘Health and Safety Policy document’.
- To work within and promote the Authority’s equality and diversity policies and procedures.
- To undertake such other duties as allocated from time to time by the Authority, appropriate to the level of the post.
- To provide cover within the Finance Section in the event of absences.
Application and eligibility
To be eligible for the role, you must have purchase ledger experience and be proficient with MS Excel (VLOOKUPS, pivot tables and formulas).
In addition, the ideal candidate will have bookkeeping experience, be comfortable posting journals, and have a basic knowledge of VAT.
