Online and Virtual Events
Our online events are a great way to connect, engage and learn.
An exciting online programme of events, training and webinars delivered by experts, specialists and special guest speakers from our network and beyond.
We offer paid and free to attend events (some with an optional donation). These events are open to staff working in the Fire and Rescue Service—and on occasion—we also run events for the general public. Our valued Corporate Members receive discounted rates on some of our events.
Join us virtually from your workplace or home to develop your knowledge and skills. All our online events are hosted on the Zoom platform. We’d love you to join us.
WFS Futures events help bring the Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) to life in informative, interactive and inspiring ways. We get together skilled, experienced and knowledgeable women in the sector to provide you with insights into FRS careers.
We’ll explore what it’s like to work for a modern fire service, required strength and fitness levels needed to be a firefighter, tips on interview and application techniques, and many more topics from fire professionals who’ve already carved out a career for themselves and play a vital role protecting their communities.
Event participants get the chance to find out for themselves how rewarding a career as a firefighter and other vital roles in the FRS can be. We hope to encourage people from all walks of life to join us, get advice, and ultimately apply for a role. Get the inspiration you need to reimagine your future and take the next steps!
Events run online on Wednesday evenings, taking place every two months and last for 90 minutes (approximately 60-minutes talk, 20-minutes Q&A).
Sessions will be as interactive as possible, and we’ll be inviting questions from participants in advance of each event for our Q&A sessions.
Well be running more WFS Futures careers focussed events soon!
