WFS celebrate 2019 corporate members

We wanted to celebrate and thank all our corporate members for their year-long commitment in 2019, which were very grateful for. Corporate members support means we can advance our programmes, develop our events and continue our research project into education for girls.

We were delighted that Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, and Sellafield Ltd, joined us as brand new corporate members in 2019. A number of the new member’s staff attended our Women in the Fire Service National Training and Development Event in June 2019.

The three new members joined over 30 other corporate members who had renewed membership for 2019. These included the Fire Service College and Fire and Rescue Services including Greater Manchester, Hampshire, Hereford & Worcester, Lancashire and Leicestershire, Devon & Somerset, and East Sussex.

“Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service is proud to join Women in the Fire Service UK. We are continuously striving to make our Service as inclusive as possible to attract the widest range of candidates to our roles. We believe people perform best when they are properly supported.’

—Diversity and Inclusion Manager, Leanne Illman, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, on renewing membership

“2019 was an exciting time to join WFS and we were over the moon to welcome Royal Berkshire, Sellafield and Warwickshire to our supporters base. We have an exciting year ahead in 2020 as we continue to implement our plans to make membership more valuable to our corporate members.’

—Caroline Anderson, Vice-Chair, WFS
