This position is open to both current Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) employees and external applicants.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated Station Manager for the substantive post Station Manager (Response). This role requires commitment to the flexible duty rota (FDS), Level 2, and involvement in Fire Investigation and/or specialist technical advisory roles.

We are looking for motivated and committed individuals who can demonstrate strong organisational behaviours and values aligned with SCC WEASPIRE and NFCC Code of Ethics.

For candidates not currently employed by SFRS, proof of qualifications must be attached to the initial application. Copies of certificates will be accepted.

Step 2: Complete the Supporting Statement template indicating how your skills and experience meet the requirements of the role (refer to the ‘Person Profile’ section of the JPP). These can be drawn from all aspects of your work and life experience, not limited to work within a Fire and Rescue Service. Please limit your statement to 500 words.

Please include in your supporting statement: Previous incident command experience and your eligibility for a Level 2 Incident command qualification and detail of your Fire safety qualification if applying for the SM Protection role.

For external candidates and those who have not previously attained a SFRS SM Assessment Centre pass there will be an additional VCA Assessment. This is an externally provided assessment. This is comprised of an initial e-learning component which candidates will have one week to complete from the 27 May followed by an invitation to a VCA assessment at Wattisham Training Centre in person. This will be on either the 5 or 6 June. Internal candidates and those who have attained an SFRS SM Assessment pass many complete a VCA assessment for the experience should they wish to however this will not be contribute towards their overall final score.
