Women in the Fire Service UK has launched a jobs board to highlight opportunities in the fire and rescue sector. As a result, the site allows employers who are corporate members to post current vacancies for free.

Our WFS Patron, Dany, officially steps down from her position at London Fire Brigade on 31 December after 32 years of dedicated service.
Dany has been on our National Executive Committee for 19 years and we are honoured she has served as a committed Vice-Chair, Chair, and Patron during that time.
WFS event speaker inspires firefighters
Antarctic Fire Angels are six firefighters from London Fire Brigade (LFB) and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (SWFRS). They have their sights set on being the first emergency service team to ski coast across Antarctica. All this and on a route never done before by an all-female team.

“In March 2019 the three of us headed out to Tajikistan with a team from Staffordshire Emergency Services Humanitarian Aid Association (SESHAA). Ron, Matt and Paul from SESHAA taught the male firefighters at the fire stations. And we taught the women in a purpose built building, designed for USAR Training. Imagine a very grand building covered in marble, yet with no running water or electricity which made things interesting!”
