£47,665 to £50,908 per annum + benefits (pay award pending)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to fill the role of Prevention Manager.
Reporting directly to the Head of Prevention and Education, you will provide senior support and management across the Prevention and Education Department, helping to translate the Service’s strategic priorities into effective plans, high-quality services and measurable outcomes that support our vision of ‘Creating the Safest Community’.
You will provide senior oversight of prevention and education activity, ensuring priorities, resources and workloads are managed effectively. The role includes leading cross-departmental coordination, supporting workforce and succession planning, overseeing key partnerships, and representing the department at boards, working groups and corporate forums. You will also provide assurance on risk, performance, compliance, quality, and continuous improvement, using complex information to support sound decisions and high-quality reporting.

As a Prevention Manager you will:
•Provide senior oversight of departmental activity, ensuring priorities, resources and workloads are managed effectively.
•Translate departmental objectives into clear plans, milestones and performance measures aligned with corporate priorities and risk management plans.
•Lead cross-departmental coordination and support workforce planning, role development, training needs, succession planning and departmental resilience.
•Develop and maintain effective partnerships and represent the department at relevant boards, working groups, partnership meetings and corporate forums.
•Provide senior advice and assurance on risk, performance, compliance, quality assurance and improvement activity.
•Collate and analyse complex information, monitor departmental standards and systems, and prepare high-quality management reports.
•Manage people and performance through clear objectives, timely reviews and structured development, while promoting continuous improvement and value for money.
We are seeking a candidate who has demonstrable experience of:
•Managing people, processes and performance, with a record of sound delivery and effective team development.
•Developing and successfully implementing prevention and education strategies, policies, procedures, practices, reporting arrangements, and performance measures.
•Critically analysing complex quantitative and qualitative information and producing comprehensive reports to support effective decisions.
•Building effective relationships, negotiating, and influencing, and communicating clearly with colleagues, senior leaders, partners and stakeholders.
•Managing change, quality assurance and performance, with knowledge of relevant local and national policies, standards and legislation.
•Using ICT and service risk-management software effectively, organising competing priorities and working flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
