Salary: Grade 3 (*£25,949– £25,989)
*To increase subject to national pay award negotiations for 2026.
Hours: Full Time – 37 Hours per week
Flexi Time Scheme – (accrue up to 13 extra days off a year (pro-rata) on top of your annual leave).
Key Benefits: 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays (36 days holiday a year). Increasing with length of service to a maximum of 37 days per year plus Bank Holidays (45 days holiday a year).

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our People Services section for a People Administrator in the Recruitment & Selection team, based in Headquarters. Our People function is at the heart of an exciting period of transformation, playing a vital role in driving the growth and success of the service. This is a fantastic opportunity to join us during a pivotal time, as we deliver a range of ambitious culture initiatives aligned to our vision and values.
In this role, you will support the People Officer (Recruitment & Selection) in delivering a high-quality, efficient and customer-focused recruitment service to colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will:
Hold an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration (or equivalent)
Have a good understanding of people processes, particularly within recruitment and selection
Bring proven experience of working with administrative procedures and systems to deliver a high-quality, transactional HR service
Thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment, working collaboratively as part of a small team
Demonstrate flexibility, organisation and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and team objectives.
Key duties and responsibilities
These will include:
Delivering a wide range of recruitment and selection administration activities across internal and external processes e.g. undertaking right to work checks for all new employees, ensuring compliance with SYFR policy and legislation
Liaising with candidates, hiring managers and people function colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient recruitment processes
Responding to recruitment-related queries, providing a professional and customer-focused service at all times
Completing administrative tasks accurately and efficiently, in line with deadlines, KPIs and People policies.

New starters will commence on the bottom of the salary grade and will receive increases to the top of the grade on an incremental basis. We offer 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays. Annual leave increases after 5 years’ service to 32 days, followed by an extra day a year up to a maximum of 37 days. We also operate a generous flexi time attendance scheme.
Most of our corporate roles offer flexi time and agile working, meaning people can vary their hours to suit their commitments outside of work as agreed with their line manager. Flexi time can be accrued with a potential of up to 13 days to be taken within a year.
All eligible corporate staff are auto-enrolled onto the Local Government Pension Scheme with personal contributions ranging from 5.5% to 12.5%. It is a defined benefit pension scheme that means pensions are based on salary and the length of paying into the scheme. 1/49th of your pensionable salary is added to your pot per year plus cost of living adjustments.
