Appointments are made within the advertised pay range. While the normal expectation is appointment towards the lower end, the agreed starting salary will ultimately reflect the successful candidate’s experience, expertise and relevance to the role

An opportunity has arisen to join the NFCC Implementation Support Team.
The Implementation Team provides advice and support to fire and rescues services to support their continuous improvement and to meet the government’s reform agenda. The team offers support to services to respond to HMICFRS, embed Fire Standards to increase professionalism and implement NFCC products and guidance. The team also maintains two-way dialogue with fire and rescue services. This is to not only ensure services are kept informed of national issues, but to also make sure the products produced by the NFCC meet fire and rescue service needs.
To support this work, the NFCC Implementation Team is looking to recruit an Implementation Liaison Manager who will be the key interface between fire and rescue services and the NFCC’s Hubs and functional areas (People, Culture and Leadership; Response; Protection; and Prevention), as well as Operational Guidance and Learning.
This is a key role in delivering change across the UK fire and rescue service and the successful candidate will need a good understanding of the fire sector, its obligations, stakeholders and governance arrangements.
You will need to be politically aware, understand how to influence our partners at all levels and be able to demonstrate experience of delivering business change.
We are seeking applicants who can confidently operate at the level of Group Manager with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from all areas of the fire sector, based from home but working across the UK.
For this specific role, we will be recruiting an Implementation Liaison Manager to cover the South of England and the candidate will be expected to be an operational member of staff from this area of the country.
Please note, NFCC will be unable to pay flexi officer duty rates and would expect these to be paid for by the service to support candidates to maintain professional competence. NFCC is open to the successful candidate providing duty rota support and maintaining professional training with their home service.

Your role as Implementation Liaison Manager:
Key requirements
We are looking for professional and enthusiastic individuals to help us achieve our drive to provide excellent service in everything that we do.
As a member of the Implementation Team, you will be responsible for gathering information from the UK fire and rescue services, liaising with stakeholders at all levels, and providing intelligence back to NFCC.
You will work with subject matter experts from NFCC teams to understand the products and their benefits, and help services realise and embed them in their work.
You will represent the NFCC at meetings, events and service visits and engage with all.
The successful candidate will have:
Operational experience, including at incident command level
Recent experience delivering change in an organisation
Expert understanding of the fire sector and needs of fire and rescue services
Good interpersonal skills
The ability to influence and drive change at all levels
The ability to take personal responsibility for their own performance
Experience organising and running meetings, workshops and training sessions
The successful candidate will have an understanding of:
The structures of the NFCC
The obligations and responsibilities of fire and rescue services
How legislation should be interpreted in UK fire and rescue services
The value of Fire Standards in supporting continuous service improvement
Transformational change management and organisational development
Implementation liaison
Desirable qualities include:

Main responsibilities will include:
Managing relationships with fire and rescue services and external partners
Providing advice to services on appropriate implementation to resolve issues
Representing NFCC at events and meetings
Responding to queries from services and external parties
Providing briefings of existing products and development work
Identifying opportunities to develop existing products
Candidates must have the ability to work under pressure including meeting deadlines and dealing with interruptions.
This is a national role and there will be occasions for UK-wide travel.
