About this role
The Prevention Hub works to improve and innovate prevention activities to keep communities safer. We support Fire and Rescue Services to work towards achieving the Prevention Fire Standard and Safeguarding Fire Standard.
You will engage and co-ordinate at a national, regional and local level a range of support to Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) Children & Young People (CYP) functions. You will co-ordinate a collaborative approach through design, delivery and maintenance of products, tools and guidance.
What we are looking for
A proactive, professional and enthusiastic individual who will provide support across the CYP functions in collaboration with the wider Prevention Hub. As a member of the Prevention Hub, you will have a key role in delivering change across the UK FRS. You will work with Lead Officers to co-ordinate, deliver and evaluate a range of engagement opportunities including network meetings, projects and training.
What You’ll Bring
An excellent understanding of the fire sector and prevention approaches
A good understanding and knowledge of Youth Work National Occupational Standards and Trauma Informed Practice.
Experience of developing, delivering and reviewing products
Proven experience of directly and indirectly working with children and young people
A good understanding of the political environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent administrative skills and organisational skills
Excellent presentation skills with the ability to engage
A good understanding of Safeguarding practice and creating safe environments
Experience of using a range of IT applications particularly Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Sharepoint and Teams
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively
Experience of working with FRSs, CYP and a range of stakeholders
A positive attitude and willingness to get involved
A willingness to travel across the UK
