The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a number of Crew Manager roles to join our team and support across the Service. This is open to both internal and external applicants, either on promotion or on lateral transfer. What We are Looking For
This role requires strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to lead, manage and develop others, and deliver the Service’s strategy through local delivery.
With the potential to be an effective manager and leader, successful candidates will have an innovative approach to deliver plans across the Service to achieve positive results. With a strong focus on collaboration, you will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form positive working relationships and develop teams to improve performance. You will recognise the importance of a diverse workforce and promote a culture of equality and inclusion.

The focus is on task and how a manager uses leadership to produce outcome focussed results which meet customer needs.
Should you be successful in passing the full process, you may not be posted immediately. Should this happen, you will be held on a holding list for 12 months.

Please note: Internal applicants must be a substantive and competent Wholetime Firefighter or On-call Crew Manager. Those looking to transfer to NYFRS must be a substantive and competent Wholetime Firefighter (applying on promotion) or a substantive and competent Wholetime or On-call Crew Manager (applying for a lateral transfer). Please note, to apply, you must be substantive and competent in your existing role at the point the advert goes live and have met all NYFRS criteria for the role.
