As a Fire Control Operator, you will play a key role at the heart of emergency response. You’ll answer 999 calls, support members of the public in often distressing situations, and coordinate the mobilisation of fire and rescue resources.
This is a fast‑paced, challenging and highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll need to remain calm under pressure, communicate clearly and effectively, and make quick, informed decisions. Working as part of a dedicated and professional team, you’ll receive comprehensive training and develop a wide range of transferable skills while making a genuine difference to community safety.
Our Control Room operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so you will be required to work a shift pattern including days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
Please ensure you upload your Level 2 English (GCSE grade C/4 or above) certificate as part of your application. Without this, you will not be able to progress to the next stage of the recruitment process.
