Vacancies:

Wholetime Watch Commander

  • £38,611 per annum
  • Covering Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

Criteria to meet in order to apply:

  • You must be a Competent Substantive Wholetime Crew Commander.
  • You must have successfully passed the operational practical assessment for Watch Commander.

Wholetime Crew Commander

  • £34,528 per annum
  • Covering Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

Criteria to meet in order to apply:

  • You must be a Competent Substantive Wholetime Firefighter.
  • You must have successfully passed the operational practical assessment for Crew Commander.

Wholetime Watch Commander (Fire Control)

  • £36,680 per annum
  • Based in Combined Fire Control, SHQ

Criteria to meet in order to apply:

  • You must be a Competent Substantive Crew Commander (FC)
  • You must have completed the pre-assessment for Watch Commander

Wholetime Crew Commander (Fire Control)

  • £32,802 per annum
  • Based in Combined Fire Control, SHQ

Criteria to meet in order to apply:

  • You must be a Competent Substantive Firefighter (FC)
  • You must have successfully completed your probation period
  • You must have completed the pre-assessment for Crew Commander

Please note: you can only apply for one role above i.e. a Competent Substantive Wholetime Firefighter cannot apply for the Wholetime Watch Commander post.

Pre-application Information Event

  • 15:00-16:00 – 05 February 2020 – Conference Room 1, SHQ

If you are unable to attend the event, a recording will be available on Workplace along with all questions and answers asked during the session.

Practical Assessment Operational

  • You will be able to undertake drill ground assessments from 13th Jan – 28th Feb.
  • You are only able to undertake 1 drill ground assessment per calendar year.
  • Please be aware assessment dates will be confirmed on a first come basis and assessor availability cannot always be guaranteed – as such you are advised to book early. Only exceptional circumstances will be considered for an assessment after the 28th Feb 2020.
  • Successful candidates will be eligible to attend an assessment centre for a period of 24 months from the practical assessment date.

Pre- Assessment Fire Control

  • You will be able to undertake the online assessment from 13th Jan – 28th Feb

Application Form

The application form will be available from 02 March 2020 – 13 March 2020 at 12 noon and will be available on the external website as well as on Workplace.

Assessment Centre

All successful applicants will be invited to an assessment centre for the w/c 23 March 2020.

Please be aware that all internal applicants will follow the same process as external candidates and must:

  • not be subject to a current capability action plan concerning performance.
  • not be subject to current disciplinary proceedings or a live formal disciplinary sanction.
